INVITATION

Join our 2-day Health Literacy Development Masterclass!

This Masterclass will introduce you to practical, evidence-based ways to co-design effective health programmes. You will learn how to work hand in hand with project stakeholders, like community members and health workers, to develop interventions which are really needed and wanted.

What is health literacy development?

Health literacy development means helping people find, understand, and use health information and services. It focuses on making health outcomes more equitable, especially for people experiencing disadvantage.

Why does co-design matter?

Many interventions fail because they do not fit the needs of patients, health workers, and communities. Co-design aims to create interventions that fit everyone’s needs. Health literacy measurement shows what stakeholders already know and what they need to know about accessing and using health information and services. This helps teams co-design appropriate, meaningful and useful interventions.

What you'll learn

  • Measuring health literacy: Learn how to use the Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLQ) to assess community health literacy strengths and needs
  • Using the Ophelia (Optimising Health Literacy and Access): Discover an evidence-based co-design process to identify and address health literacy needs
  • Building effective interventions: Create solutions to improve health service access and engagement to reduce inequities

Who should attend?

This masterclass is perfect for:

  • Health professionals and researchers
  • Health planners and policymakers
  • Health managers and executives
  • Anyone passionate about making health services accessible and equitable
